Medical experts have made a passionate appeal to men in Lango and Uganda at large, to embrace healthier lifestyles if the alarming rate of untimely and unexpected death must reduce.
Sr. Hellen Odongo of Lira Regional Referral hospital in Lira City, told a regional health assembly for Lango concluding Wednesday at Gracious Palace Hotel, that last month alone, 33 men died from the hospital in just two-days.
Sr.Ongom, revealed that many of the deaths were linked to kidney and liver conditions, which she attributed largely to excessive alcohol consumption and delayed medical attention.
She warned against substance, which often severely damage vital organs, including the liver and kidneys, and may lead to death if not addressed early.
The senior nursing officer in encouraged men to always make regular medical check-ups, eat balanced diets, drink enough water and avoid substance abuse if they must survive.
This statement comes at a time when many communities are registering rampant sudden deaths which are unexplainable and medics alike often lacks clear explanation when giving medical reports at funerals.
