Oyam police arrests 10 for Ngai SS computer Lab break-in.

The Territorial Police in Oyam District have arrested 10 suspects in connection with the theft of 16 computers from the computer laboratory of Ngai SS.

North Kyoga Region Police Spokesperson SP Patrick Jimmy Okema, told Radio Kioga FM in a telephone interview that the incident happened on Sunday 23rd August 2026 at around 2:00 AM at Bar-ryeko village, Akucha parish, Ngai Sub-County, Oyam District.

The case was reported to Oyam Police by the Headteacher Mr. Okot Janani, 57, after he discovered the break-in at around 7:40 AM.

He immediately alerted the ICT teacher Mr. Olobo Tonny.

It is alleged that unknown people broke into the school’s computer lab during the night and stole 16 HP Central Processing Units (CPUs) valued at approximately Shs 40 Million.

Police has so far commenced investigation with 10 suspects including watchmen and some teachers in their custody.
